
Prof. Mi Jing
He holds a Doctor of Education degree and serves as a Professor/Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor. His primary research focuses on Vocational Education, History of Education, and Engineering Ethics. He is a Five Batch Publicity and Culture Talent in Tianjin. He also holds multiple academic and advisory roles, including:
-Member of the Academic Committee of the Vocational Education Development Center under the Ministry of Education;
-Vice Chairman of the Cultural Confidence Committee of the China Vocational Education Association;
-Member of the Luban Workshop Development Expert Committee of the Ministry of Education;
-Member of the Expert Committee of the China Vocational Education Association;
-Member of the 5th and 6th Executive Committees of the Tianjin China Vocational Education Association;
-Member of the Tianjin Vocational Education Expert Advisory Committee.
He has published over 100 academic papers in journals including Educational Research and International and Comparative Education, among which more than 20 are indexed in CSSCI and over 40 are published in PKU Core journals. Notably, his paper titled “Vigorously Promoting the Reform and Innovation of Vocational Education to Support High-Quality Economic and Social Development: Exploration and Practice of Developing Modern Vocational Education in Tianjin” was selected for inclusion in the national cadre training textbook Selected Cases for Advancing and Expanding Chinese Modernization (Education, Science and Technology, and Talent) with a preface by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.
He has authored 3 academic books and contributed to 18 academic publications and textbooks as lead editor, co-author, or compiler. The book series “Modern Vocational Education Development: Country-Specific Studies,” which he led as editor-in-chief, was included in the National “14th Five-Year Plan” Key Publishing Project in 2023 and received National Publication Funding support in 2024.
He has presided over 1 national-level project in Education Science under the National “13th Five-Year Plan” for Philosophy and Social Sciences, along with 20 provincial/ministerial and international collaborative research projects. His accolades include 6 provincial/ministerial Social Science Achievement Awards and 7 teaching awards at the provincial/ministerial level. In 2021, he was honored with the inaugural National Textbook Building Award as an “Advanced Individual in National Textbook Construction”. In 2022, he led a project that received the Tianjin Vocational Education Teaching Achievement Special Award and led the completion of the revision work for the “Tianjin Vocational Education Regulations”.
He has been extensively involved in guiding and evaluating multiple major development projects in the vocational education sector under the Ministry of Education. He is well-versed in national vocational education policies and has contributed to the drafting of several key policy documents, as well as participated in the compilation of a number of national-level vocational education reports.
He is currently the director of the Center of African Union Studies and Vice President of Tianjin University of Technology and Education.
