The Luban Workshop in Ethiopia has become an important training base for highly qualified faculty for 16 vocational colleges in four countries, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, delegates from the founders of the workshop announced on Tuesday at a conference marking its second anniversary in Tianjin.
It serves the East African Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project and has become an essential component of the vocational education system in East Africa, according to a newsletter from the event.
The Luban Workshop in Addis Ababa has become a designated technology and skills training center for the entire African continent, the newsletter said.
The founding universities were Tianjin University of Technology and Education and Federal Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institute in Ethiopia.
